Learn about Angus, the location of the Glen Clova Hotel

Glen Clova and the Angus Glens

The beauty of the Glens touches everyone who sees them.
Each of the five Glens has a character all of its own and the frequent visitor will always find something new to delight in.
With constantly changing landscapes and magnificent scenery, there could be no better place to enjoy the tranquility and beauty that these Glens are so famous for.

The picturesque settlement of Milton of Clova is the location of The Glen Clova Hotel which, newly refurbished, also offers Bunkhouse Accommodation for the many Walkers & Climbers who enjoy the magnificent scenery of this area. Munro Baggers will be happy to know there are 10 mountains 3000 ft and over in the Glens, just waiting for them.

Arguably the loveliest of the Glens, Clova is a botanist's paradise with its blanket of rare alpine flowers, where every season offers its own programme of sights and sounds.

At the head of the valley is rugged and remote Glen Doll, a popular and challenging spot for outdoor enthusiast's. The end of the Glen is dominated by the Cairngorms with footpaths leading to Braemar via Jock's Road, Ballater and the Capel Mounth, and to Glen Prosen via the Kilbo Path.

Glen Isla boasts the spectacular waterfall of Reekie Linn, the winding River Isla, the Loch of Lintrathen and the brooding Backwater Reservoir.

Glenprosen is cloaked in green thanks to it's thickly wooded slopes. Running through the Glens is the Prosen water which rises in the Braes of Mar in the Eastern Grampians, through the wooded valley to Strathmore

All the Glens have great walks and abundant wildlife and are very popular for cycling, fishing, walking, climbing, bird watching, botany, photography, pony-trekking or just the simple pleasure of enjoying the spectacular views.Whatever your reason for visiting these beautiful Glens, take the time to visit some of the places of interest you will find close by in the historic County of Angus and enjoy
